Typhoon Lagoon

Typhoon Lagoon was another surprise! It was soooooo much fun. We went with just the older kids and we couldn't believe how BEAUTIFUL it was. Of course it is Disney as well and they make everything look so nice.
It has the largest Lazy River and Wave pool in the USA. The wave pool has waves that you can surf....so cool!
At one point there was a clap of thunder and they told everyone to get out and find cover. We never saw lightning but we did what we were told and went and found an open stand with ice cream. Before we finished they had the slides back open. The best part is that almost EVERYONE left the park. They had the pools closed for about 20 minutes. We had the park to ourselves (again)! It was so neat to be in that gigantic lazy river by ourselves. The lifeguards at the wave pool were saying "Marco", "Polo". We could hear them as we were RUNNING....yes I said RUNNING up to the top of the slides. I had to sit out a few so I could catch my breath. Again we closed the park. I love the pictures with the park empty. The picture of the tubes is when they closed the pools and slides, they put a rope across the lazy river and that is where all the tubes collected.

This is the side of the wave pool (You can't see the actual wave area in this picture) with an empty beach

Another fun day had by all! Our other family was at Epcot and Kayley was in Apartment Prison...Long story, we had her cell phone and didn't know she was stranded....oooppps!

That's awesome you had it to yourself. . . this park was not open in January. Too bad for us, it looks like it was a blast.
