Princess

Caitlyn....let me tell you about her! She is our first miracle baby and she brings tremendous joy to our lives daily! She is our "preppy girl" and always wants to look her best!

Caitlyn's love language is touch and she loves to have her back scratched and to snuggle. She is a pleaser and wants everyone to be happy always (unless it is Andrew and for some reason she wants him to be getting in trouble!!!!) Last year Caitlyn had a really hard time in 3rd grade and she struggled with math and reading and was constantly "Stressed out"! We enrolled her in Sylvan learning center for math (we figured we could do the reading part) last January and the same night I enrolled her in dance. As you know she LOVED/LOVES dance but she loved going to Sylvan as well. We just wanted her to have confidence as well as to learn her math skills. By summer she was caught up in math (a little ahead of 3rd grade) and she was climbing the charts in reading (that just took a little snuggle time with mommy and daddy at night reading with her). A year later Caitlyn is in 4th grade and is in the highest reading group in her class. She received her first semester report card last month and received ALL A's!!!!
She works so hard and we told her that we would be happy with B's because we knew that she was doing her best! Well B's weren't going to cut it for our girl. Grades are so funny these days. When we were young an A was if you turned in all your work and did good. Nowadays that is a "C". A "C" is perfectly acceptable because that is what is expected and is what is standard!!! A teacher is fine giving a "C" because that means the student has met what is required. That is just tough on a kid when her sister got a DOG - named ACE, because she got straight "A's". A "B" is going a little beyond what is required and an "A" is giving it your all and that is what she did!!!! She just received a progress report and she actually has an "A" in math again!

The most important thing about Caitlyn is that she is HAPPY this year! At "back to school night" last summer there was a table set up to let us know about "Drama Club". I walked over and inquired....They told me that it isn't about the final show at the end of the year (which there is) but it is more about building confidence in the child.....I said "Sign her up!" She is blossoming! She loves dance and is level 3 of ballet, she is in drama every Tuesday after school, she takes piano and practices as much as she can...even playing for us for FHE last Monday- I Hope They Call Me on a Mission (level 1 style) and loves and makes friends with everyone. She is very conscientious about being on time to school (DRIVES ME CRAZY every morning panicking that they will be late...at 8:30 am, the school doesn't even open until 8:45 am......again where getting worked up about Andrew comes into play!!!! It is 8:00 am right now and she just came down 10 minutes ago worrying that they will be late!) I better go attend to my kids and make some breakfast so she "Is not late!" We love Caitlyn as well as anyone who meets her!
