This is our 2nd year being invited to the Scofield's for Christmas Eve and enjoying their family traditions....

Before we started the fun of the grab bag we read the story of Christ's Birth from the scriptures. Mike then explained to us the history behind the grab bag. When his Grandma was a young girl her family was very poor. They would wrap up little things they had around the house (for example a bar of soap) and then tie it to a string. The family would sit around the table with the strings coming out from under a table cloth. They would take turns pulling on a string and that would be their Christmas present (what ever was tied to the end of the string).
Daddy also did a demonstration of Frankincense and Myrrh for us...
Interesting but STINKY!!!
